JAWAI NATIONAL PARK, RAJASTHAN
WHERE LEOPARDS RULE THE HILLS
1 - 3 August 2025
2 NIGHTS/ 3 DAYS
Overview
Looking for a quick escape that blends wildlife, culture, and luxury? Let’s head to Jawai, known for having the highest density of leopards in the world. Its breathtaking natural beauty, thriving leopard population, rocky terrain and caves make it a perfect destination for a holiday. For wildlife enthusiasts, explorers and photographers, this place is nothing short of paradise.
Unlike other sanctuaries or reserves, Leopards in Jawai live freely among human settlements, a co-existence that dates back several generations. What makes Jawai special is the harmony between Leopards and the Rabari community – a semi-nomadic pastoral tribe that is known for its deep respect for nature. It is home to several other animals, such as hyenas, jackals, jungle cats, and Indian fox that roam around the rocky terrain. The area is also known for crocodile spotting; they bask along the banks of the dam, as well as herds of nilgai, langurs, and several reptiles.
Birds watchers will be left delighted by the sight of flamingos, cranes, pelicans, and over a hundred migratory and resident bird species. Jawai Bandh is a birding paradise, especially during the winter when the reservoir becomes a haven for migratory birds.
