Overview

Let Nature be Thy Medicine!
This summer we travel to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary to Unwind in the Uttarakhand Himalayas – The Green Way – by staying inside the sanctuary! If you are looking for some solitude and respite from the city cacophony, like us, this trip can’t be missed. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in the Kumaon range of Uttaranchal, where telephones, traffic and televisions are kept out with a vengeance. A perfect holiday retreat for those who enjoy basking in the arms of nature. In this heavily wooded estate, you will end up finding the most coveted and elusive of commodities – Peace. Your stay will be at a 165-year-old property in the middle of a wildlife sanctuary, 2,700 m above sea level – surprisingly the place is neither haunted nor dilapidated. Cradled in the lap of Kumaon amongst forty acres of thick Oak, Cedar and Rhododendron forests of the Binsar Estate, this place exudes old world charm from the colonial era.

The property stands in a reserved and protected area. Located strategically atop a hill helps one get a spellbinding view of the majestic Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chukhamba, Panchachuli and Shivling. It is the night skies which seem to be the biggest blessing for us city-bred souls. Honestly speaking, you would not have seen so many stars in your lives! This trip is dedicated to the experience of Kumaoni Culture and Lifestyle.
We will walk through hamlets practicing traditional agriculture; follow trails to ancient shrines through forests of oak, cedar and rhododendron; soak in the sun, lounge in meadows immersed in birdsong, star gaze at the milky way and fill our lungs with pure, clean mountain air
